First Generation Business Summit

July 20 – July 25, 2026

This program is open to students who have successfully completed 9th through 12th grades, from those starting their sophomore year to recent high school graduates. Students are planning to be a first-generation college student. You’re considered a first-generation student if you don’t have a parent or guardian with a bachelor’s degree.

During this weeklong summit, you will: 

  • Get a feel for how the College of Business supports first-generation students
  • Explore campus and enjoy meals in the student dining halls.
  • Get connected with a first-generation student mentor.
  • Tour local companies and engage with business leaders.
  • Participate in discussions and competitions that will open your mind to the opportunities a business degree can unlock for you.

Earn a College Credit: All First-Generation Business Summit attendees will earn 1 credit in financial literacy. This free summit can help you prepare for college with confidence, and start one credit closer to graduating!
