Carl A. Bimson Seminar on Storytelling for Social Justice
Begins with a 3-day retreat, June 12-14, 2024 on the CSU campus and continues in a hybrid fashion through Dec. 7.
The CSU Writing Project is partnering with the CSU College of Liberal Arts to offer an interdisciplinary professional development opportunity focused on connecting narrative and the humanities in anti-bias, anti-racist teaching in Summer 2024.
This prestigious, paid seminar will equip secondary public-school teachers in the humanities with practical pedagogical tools for promoting critical dialogue in a counter-narrative storytelling community.
Participants will receive a $500 stipend and a copy of the book Storytelling for Social Justice: Connecting Narrative and the Arts in Antiracist Teaching (Bell, 2020). You will also have the option to purchase three CSU graduate credits at a reduced rate.
